All this nonsense just for a bit of nudity. What sort of company fires you on the spot for having porn (if its illegal stuff its different of course)? I understand the injustice here is an unfair dismissal (from the reports we have). Anyone who finds regular porn offensive should think a bit about how they got here (IMO).

I agreee but it's quite natural and I hate thoes who have such over offence to it, his boss shouldn't have fired him till he has the full picture. Someone has lost a job over nothing he got involved with and even if it was him, I don't think that was a fair cause. A suspension would have been more fair.
In the end we are all only human and we all make mistakes.

IMHO it sounds like a pretty {bleep} company to work for if they do that.

However, if it were me I would just have said no thanks, its only some porn so to me it's no big deal just something I prefer in the privacy of my room.

Many companies don't like troublemakers though so this may be at the root of it.................

well... here's another shocker...

when I worked at Netscape in 2001 (yes THE netscape)
I found kiddie porn on the internal newsserver

I reported it to HR.... and was told to "keep a very low profile" by the US manager who was a vietnam veteran... Mr Mike Sutton, unless I'm mistaken, now at AOL.

I guess I should have taken that to court.

Find out about the grievance procedure and disciplinary procedures. Play EVERYTHING by the book - that way your behaviour is unimpeachable.

If you do that, then any tribunal (if it goes that far) will be on your side. If you don't, then your case is much weaker.

If that means seeing a doctor, then what is the harm?

thats the problem. i was so affected by what he try to do i walk out of work & lock myself away..turn off my mobile phone.

no one could find me for 2 days & the police was call in to help find me.

That's not irretrievable. Whilst they may be able to give you a warning of some sort (if they were so inclined) for not ringing in sick, that is unlikely to stand up as a sacking offence.

The best way to protect yourself is to make sure that you follow the grievance procedure from now on, and co-operate with any disciplinary type thing they may put you through.

It sounds like a pretty grim working culture, and I hope it all works out.

Wow...sorry to hear that. I'd go see the doctor if I were you, it's at the company request.

You may have a case for sexual harassment I suppose, have they temporarily suspended the guy who passed you the disc as well?
