I've recently hooked up the CD32 to my 42" full hd plasma and while its been hours of fun play the classics on the large screen is there anything I can do to improve the look of the graphics. Obvousily with a 1200 etc there is options to add graphics cards but is there anything I can do to my console?????

Nah, 'fraid not, and that wouldn't improve games anyway as they all use the internal graphics chipset to generate the video output. What you could do is look at the way you're connecting your CD32 to your telly. You can improve the image by connecting via the S-video input, which I'd imagine your television has.
If that doesn't improve matters, then it's likely due to the hardware scaler in your TV. Good place to ask: www.avforums.com Regards, stu |

It's already been said but you should buy a decent Plasma that doesn't screw up 4:3 SDTV pictures??
When in 4:3 mode using SVideo input, the CD32 screens look great on a Panasonic 42" Plasma. |

I play my CD32 on my Sony 50" LCD TV at widescreen I must say that I am a little surprised about the resolution though. Ok the graphics are a bit pixelised in some games, but I ensure you that I play Sensible Soccer without any problems. You can switch also from 16:9 to 4:3 for better performance.

Try turning down the sharpness filter.
Are you using SVideo or composite? |

SVideo. I think SVideo gives the best picture quality that CD32 can offer.

I dont think "performance" is the right word. Having the correct aspect ratio usually helps with SDTV, the stretching process shows up problems with low quality TV scalers/filters.
A PAL CD32 can be modified to output RGB for SCART easily. |

I said performance because as you know all the Amiga games are 4:3 specific. If you choose 16:9 it looks a bit odd though, but that doesn't mean that is bad.

"Performance" is not the right word.. "Quality" perhaps?

I've been using composite myself but will try the s-video later. My TV is full HD (panasonic veria job) so 1920x1280 resolution (or whatever it is) and I also play the games in 4:3 aspect ratio and not the stretched 16:9 although when stretched it looks ok in most games, just some characters get fat lol.
