Amiga Marketplace This forum is here so that members can alert other members to Amiga items they've seen on eBay (or other auctions). If you are selling Amiga items on eBay, you might let us know about them here. Likewise, if you're selling Amiga items sans eBay, this is the "for sale" forum.

Default FS: ACARD AEC-7720U SCSI - IDE Bridge

This plugs into the back of any IDE drive (Hard drive, CD RW, DVD RW, etc) and allows you to connect it to a scsi bus, as if it were a scsi device. This is the 50-pin version (operates at 20MB/s speeds) - perfect for a blizzard PPC scsi chain, and I'll include a 68-50 pin adapter to allow you to use it on a CSPPC scsi chain.

Great way to connect top speed IDE devices to your SCSI bus. Another advantage is that, should your SCSI CDRW start playing up, it is much cheaper, easier and more reliable to replace it with a new IDE device than to hunt around trying to find an (increasingly rare) SCSI replacement.

I've been using it with a CDRW/DVDRW combi device on my CSPPC. I have two, so am getting rid of this one.

Price - £25 including UK shipping.
Includes the bridge, still boxed and with instructions. Also includes a 68-50 pin adapter.

I should also note that, as it is an Ultra scsi device (operating at 20MHz), it would not slow down the operation of a CSPPC or mk3 scsi bus. As long as it is installed on the end of the bus that is.

The only reason it is limited to 20MB/s (as opposed to 40MB/s of the UW bus) is that it is narrow - only allowing 1 byte width of data per cycle as opposed to 2 bytes width of the wide devices. As long as the upper byte is terminated (which I believe the adapter does - I've had no problems with data loss or scsi lockups whilst using it), the remaining devices on the bus will still operate at their 2-byte width (40MB/s).
