Is it usable enough yet to justify switch from Piru's exec to BB2-one?

In any case, sounds good!

On my real amiga 4000/060 it's real slow. I don't know
if this will ever change. Edit: On winuae the speed is
reasonable. Not super fast but not real slow either.
This is on a p4 3 Ghz. system.

Lloyd

 Yeah, i was wondering the same thing. I shouldn't impose such absolute requirements, imho.

OWB works for me finally with CS MK3 68060@80 MHz 96Mb + Mediator with Voodoo4 + latest Picasso96. It runs in 24 bit and 16 bit PC on Workbench. It's pretty slow except for picture loading but looks like it could be usable on high end 68k systems if it could be made about 50% faster and bugfixed. Memory usage isn't bad at all. Good work Joerg!

@ matthey

Cool!  I'm going to go try it on my Mediator/Radeon 9200 setup.

@ all

I tried it with WinUAE and I get an ixemul.library "illegal instruction" error...I'm using 48.0 and the previous versions of OWB worked, so I'm not sure what the issue is.

@ikepgh

I got an ixemul "bus error" after a while so it might not have anything to do with WinUAE. Probably a bug in ixemul.library?

you have to have the latest system librarys (exec45.??). artm or other system monitor can show you the version of residents. most probably have to check your boingbag2 installation. this was the sollution in my case. current version of owb works perfectly on both machines im actively using now.

For this release to work you need:

1. IXEmual.library, ixnet.library v48
2. GGenv.lha for Geek Gadgets environment (etc, bin, and so  on)
3. CG Triumvirate outline font installed
4. V45 Kickstart ROM (if using AmigaForever, select the A4000 V45 Kickstart).

I have tried it out and found the following problem(s):
a) I cannot close the OWB window when I start it. The only way to quit is to restart the Amiga.
b) Has a tendency to freeze e.g. when I went to http://www.msn.com and did a search. It froze.

Not quite stable yet and needs more work on it. Some sort of toolbar would be nice...otherwise you either have to use links or search for the site you want.

no probs here to close it mostly, neither not many freezes. but have not tested it extensively on odd sites. for example the witcher website crashes the whole system to the core, but who would expect otherwise..

"Simple" question...HOW you "put" the address of the website into the OWB window... :-D

@kreciu

A) Do a google search and follow the link.

B) Command line option when starting but be sure to have enough stack. Look at how much stack is needed in the icon and set with the stack command in the shell.

When I started an OWB I have a just BLANK WHITE screen...

I assume Google is a "default" web page?

@kreciu

Yea, Google is the default page for OWB. Don't be surprised if it takes a long time to load. It takes probably 20-30 seconds on my 68060@80MHz with UltraSCSI hard drive to start. I think it must create all the sizes of scalable fonts it needs.

The web page takes some time to load up, if no web page appears, make sure you have the CGTriumvirate font installed (you need the .otag, .font and .type files).

To launch OWB with a specific URL use the --url option e.g.
OWB --url http://uk.yahoo.com
