I just received (2) of these modules today. They are brand new and they do just barely fit in the stock 1200 case with the Blizzard PPC. You will have to modify the bracket for the floppy drive slightly and it's kind of tight under the keyboard, but it does work. They also have different modules that might be worth looking at.
Memory Ten 128MB 72 Pin SIMM I have nothing to do with these people other than I ordered there memory and it works. I tested it with OS4 tonight. -Jeff |

They have SIMMs for CSPPC's too! http://www.memoryx.net/8mbx326e4.html
Now, why don't they sell ZIP chips?

The user Effy have those 128Mb SIMM to sell right here! Inexpensive (as a pull up) and work flawlessly!

Last time I talked to Effy (a few weeks ago) he sold all his ram to an acorn guy. Also his modules are not smaller than you see the one on that site I guess.

I also have some of the modules like the ones that Effy has. Yes they are cheaper than that, but they DO NOT fit in the standard desktop case. You will have to have the A1200 installed in a tower to use those modules.
The ones on the Memory Ten site are more expensive, but it is very hard to find a 128 meg SIMM small enough to fit two of them inside the A1200. -Jeff |

Would these fit in a Blizzard 1230IV?

Sorry, I don't have a Blizzard 1230 to test them in for you. My guess by looking at them is that these are about as small as possible form factor wise for a 128MB SIMM. I can provide some measurements of them if that will help.

Hi there - Measurements would be appreciated. Here is a photo of the 1230IV in question.
I have known wider sticks (E.g. Ones with a small row of chips end to end near to the connector, then a bank of chips parallel to one another to the outside edge of the stick) that overhang the CPU to work in 1230IV's, but they usually need elastic bands and a certain degree of unreliablility tolerance from the user ;-) And no custom heatsink, of course ;-) How much would these sticks be in GBP, and where could I get them from? Hodgkinson.

I can take measurements and pictures of the SIMMs and post them this weekend. Yes I can also take pictures of the modules installed on the BPPC. However, the board is leaving for PG in Sweden this morning for an 060 upgrade and replacement of the broken SIMM socket so it will probably be a month or so, sorry.

blizzard 1230/iv will either take single side high profile memory modules,or low profile double sidded modules.
My 1230/iv is at 64mb and it's more than i need. |

Getting the old girl beefed up, eh? Good for you! Would like to see pics / hear tales after the job's done.
Man, this board has travelled more than me, and I've been on some pretty sweet holidays! Lurkist

Here are the pictures as promised!
My BPPC has made two trips to Sweden. It was stuck in Customs the first time and had to come all the way back:-). PG has done the upgrade to socketed 68060 and replaced the broken SIMM holder. It looks and works great! Here are the pictures of it with 256 megs installed. It's in my 1200 right now running OS4 BPPC 060 256 megs BPPC 060 256 megs with BVision Can someone tell me how to edit the description at the bottom of the first picture? I typed PC instead of PG near the end. It was REALLY early in the morning:-). -Jeff |
