Anyone know where there's some images of Amiga icons?
I'm trying to make an Amiga theme for my PS3 and need a few icon images (128x128 or there abouts). I've been searching for a couple of days but haven't found anything yet, can anyone help?
something like Newicons, Glowicons or something newer

any help would be appreciated

Amiga icons that measure 128x128? Wow, then you'll only need 6 icons to completely fill up your Workbench screen :-)

it's not for workbench, it's for my PS3

There are lots of styles of Amiga icons, from the original icons in Workbench 1.x, 2.x and 3.x, then later on MagicWB, then the original NewIcons package had a distinctive look of its own. OS3.5 and 3.9 introduced the GlowIcons theme. Finally, third party patches like PowerIcons and AfA-OS have allowed Workbench to use PNG icons, which have allowed people to use beautiful true colour icons, though these are often taken from other Operating Systems (like mine - see my gallery). There are some icons sets which are designed specifically for the Amiga, like these lovely ones, which are PNG icons and look a bit more Amiga-like.

So as you can see you need to decide which Amiga look you're after, then think about what you need the icons to do so you can pick the icons you want. Then you will need to scale them up to the correct size.

Fixed and changed a couple of links. Also I think you missed McVenco's point. He was saying that you will never find 128x128 icons on an Amiga as that would be too big for most Amigas' resolution. Most icons designed for the Amiga are much smaller than that so you will need to scale them up, or redraw them larger.

cheers motorollin, I'm after any that I can get my hands on but obviously the bigger & clearer the better, I just cannot seem to find any that are clear enough or big enough for this project

I know about all the different ones, I've been an Amiga user since 1990 and am currently using OS3.9 on a A1200T PPC

Well I think the simpler icons will scale up better, or would be easier to re-draw larger. I found those screenshots by searching Google images for whichever workbench version I wanted, and those were just the first results (so not ideal for your purposes). If you search for "workbench 1.3" you will find lots of images. Find one as high a resolution as you can and then you can cut the icons you want out and manipulate them as required.

turns out I can download any PNG icons in .info format and simply rename the .info to .png!

I have now completed my theme for the PS3
