@HenryCase,
Its an NEC Multisync 4PG It doesnt have as good a picture or color as a standard CRT would, but that might be its age and I'm only running it with 32 colors on my A1200 right now. It looks as good as any TV when running standard NTSC stuff. I havent tried a 1024x768 screen yet though. I'll have to wait for my Mediator to arrive or maybe hook my Macbook to it to try that. |

It might just need a bit of a service. If you have a local TV repair guy, why not consider getting the caps changed. I doubt he'd charge more than $30-40

Yeh I have one of these too. I think it could do with a service though as the screen has a slight bend (pincushion). This is not adjustable on this model (at least not externally. Some of the later models (4FG etc) have an onscreen menu and more adjustments.
Great monitor. btw it can handle 15-50khz horizontal and 40-120hz vertical. Max res 1024x768@60hz I use it for watching demos and playing the odd game. The tube is 29" btw but displayable area is about 27". |

Then smiling haha...im kidding though..I think that is an awesome find...........I see stuff like that in the streets almost every week here in the streets on NYC. But I have picked up so many monitors including large ones that I am scared now. But its partly because I have a Flicker Free Projector screen.....wish it would display PAL in color though. is it crips? try the loading some games.Im sure they will indeed work, but curious. :-) |

@Spihunter
Try getting a command off Aminet called "DoLace"....actually I got it from the SuperGen SX floppy discs, but try to find it...............it interlaces screens without changing the size. like for example .....if a screen is 320x200, it will lace it but its still looks the same.....so I suspect the NEC monitor needs interlace? try activating the DoLace or similar program, and then load your Audio Apps. WOW........I just saw images of your monitor..........Looks darn cool! it has S-Video inputs. Dude.....try borrowing a SuperGen-SX genlock and connect it via S-Video. it converts Composite into S-Video and the S-Video out is crisp. also try DblNTSC and Multiscan/Productivity via the VGA connectors on it to see how that looks. The monitors connections just look luscious to me. |

The screen with handle 15khz modes (320x256/320x200/640x256 etc). it will handle super72, it will handle euro36, dblpal, dblntsc, multiscan and so on.
as i said. it does 15khz to 50khz horizontal. oh and it can also take composite directly as well as svideo. it also has through connectors for each input as well as a built in amplifier (and speaker built in). its speakers are rather good too. |
