Default WHDLoad issues..

I have an amiga 1200 with 8mb fast ram installed you already know but thats 10mb in total just for the record. I have WHDLOAD installed on my system partition as well as all the kickstarts renamed correctly in system:devs:kickstarts/ including the *.pat and *.rtb files. I run a game and the unregistered whdload screen comes up ok (will register it when i get it working of course..).

At the moment i keep getting the error during 'resload_Loadkick' invalid kickstart image fault. I have even checked the version of the kickstart and its the one suggested after doing some research on other forums. Now im at a loss and cant find anything else. Everyone else seems to have whdload running fine apart from me lol. I got carrier command running but the display is all screwed up. Spy vs Spy works though ?? everything else hits that error. Maybe is should format the lot and start again .. cat think of anything else..

Can you tell us what the contents of your Devs:Kickstarts/
drawer is?

Also, some rom images don't work, like the ones from AmigaForever, as they are encrypted I think.

Yes, make sure the rom image is not encrypted or altered in any other way. Also read in the docs of the game you're installing what rom image they need. Some require an A500 1.3 rom and others an A1200 3.1 rom.

Not all games require a kickstart image so that's why some games work fine and others, the ones depending on the rom image, don't.

Maybe game slave(s) should be updated by their respective author. I tried to make F/A-18 Interceptor work on my HD equipped A500. Game crashed just upon loading and striking any key. I filled up bug-track form and after some 2 weeks of waiting, author had send me a new slave installation file which finally sorted out the problem. He was so supportive to actually disclose the problem and solution (he had reassembled whole thing with new version of kickemu so game could be run on plain 68000).
