Default Order a Minimig board finally
I couldn't resist anymore, I finally ordered the infamous Minimig board! I don't plan to build that in one day and I hope my formation in electronics will help having it working

Is there a bulletin board or a mailing list for people who are experiencing with the board (from building to running it) ??

Also if someone in the Montreal area is currently on the project don't hesitate to contact me so we can share our sources of parts and equipment.

Welcome to an elite group of Amiga enthusiasts who have jumped at the opportunity to assemble their very own Amiga OCS compatible computer that will fit in the palm of your hand. I think probably half of us or more are a bit nervous that our ambition exceeds our confidence that we can successfully complete the project. I don't think there is a mailing list yet. There may be more info on Dennis' site, and there seems to always be many members here that are discussing the Minimig.

Are you using the original form factor v1.1 fully populated and with the PIC18 pre-programmed?

Things are really going to get interesting when new designs and improvements are integrated into production runs, but right now I am sure you are filling a demand for the basic, original Minimig w/v1.1 revisions.

Me too. I've started ordering the parts required to populate the board, too. I currently have a 68000 (two in fact, to be sure), 3 DB9F's, pushbuttons etc.. Time will show when it gets done.

The most exciting part is that I have NO prior experience in electronics nor have I soldered much in my life.

Let's see how this goes.. hehe

I would never attempt to build one whitout prior training so I admire your courage

I'll probably find someone in the area that has the equipment to solder the delicate (and expensive) parts but I should be ok with the rest using a very fine iron.

What parts are the hardest to find btw? if any...
