Sockets are ok for DIP ICs; however, SMD sockets for TSSOPs & QFPS are expensive and not very reliable. You are better off having the SMD parts (TSSOPs & QFPS) soldered directly to the PCB.

What the frack is an online money aggregator? I've seen this for financial service products but how would this model apply to a MM board?
LOL its a service that allows people to give money too it on the premise that once it reaches a total amount or a date deadline the money will be used for a purpose or returned to the people who've given.

I'm wracking my brains trying to figure out where I last saw one used. Basically you'd say "Give me $200 and I'll give you a MiniMig as long as 1000 people are willing to pay that amount by this date ##/##/2007". If the required number of people didn't pay up then everyone gets their money back without any costs. If everyone does pay up then you get 1000*$200-(the percentage fee).

If I get time today I'll try and find the one I'm thinking of but I'm not a financial guy I just stumbled across one a couple of years ago. I dont even know what you'd call them!

Did a list of all parts and what they cost for this small run. For a single board, it ended in €260 for just the parts without SD-card (add another €10 for 1 GB). Out of that, the PCB is €40. _If_ I would take some payment for assembling the thing, it would easily up the price to the double. Just soldering all the SMD caps takes about 1.5 hours...

Edit: This cost calculation does not could for taxes and shipment costs. And the dollars vs. swedish krona is very good now...

I can't see the PAR: port on your board. Where is it?

How can I play 4-player games using my 4-player adapter in the PAR: port?

It isn't on the original Minimig from what I can see so why would it appear here?

Because this is a bigger board with more space and "improvements"

Are these possible ideas for other generations being put together somewhere? I know there was a wiki setup for the MiniMig but I can't remember the address.
