Default Minimig Mini-ITX style

Hi all Amigafreaks!

This is my first post and my first thread at this forum. And I hope this really takes off.

I assume that the projekt Minimig by Dennis hasn't passed this place unnoticed. When I saw it first at a swedish forum for electronics, I got really hooked. But the lack of boards (that had chaged during time) and lack of some features I wanted, made me to start designing my own version of Minimig. And here it is: The Mini-ITX Minimig:

More pictures and additional info at my homepage: Illuwatar Design

My added features (short):

* composite and S-video outputs
* Standard Mini-ITX, both sizes and hole positions
* Pin headers for the ports at board sides (serial, joysticks, SD-reader)
* Buffered audio and VGA outputs
* No need for an exact 5V PSU. Protected power input (won't blow at wrong polarity)
* PIC with more port for an additional status LCD
* Code compatible with original Dennis binaries

That is absolutely f**king awesome

It certainly hasn't passed us by, several of us are trying to build our own but most of us, like me, are fairly inexperienced at this. Crom00 is trying to get a production run made of the version 1.1 boards but after seeing your I hope he uses this design instead!

Also, welcome to Amiga.org :-D

I fkin hope not, I am the one getting the 1.1's made up for him. Its taken longer than usual, because Retards at Royal Mail have decided I am not worthy of receiving the boards while they strike.

Thank's Everyone!

This board is a pre-series version. It have some flaws that needs to be fixed before a production run could be made. And I also want to add/change two things in the design:

1. Replace the VGA-port with component outputs (keep VGA access via header in case someone wants it). My TFT's can't display 50Hz 31kHz VGA - that's the reason.

2. Allow the PIC to run at 5V temporarily so ICSP really works more that one time. This will make the board more useful as an experiment platform. It will add some logic between FPGA and PIC, but space aren't an issue.

Sweet! I so want one of these, eventually. Keep up the good work - both you, Dennis and everyone else - and I'll definately buy 1, 2 or more of these wonders

Thanks for your effort so far

Very impressive, you've implemented some clever added features. Well done! :-)
I see you went for a black solder mask, me white, so who is going to make the first pink Minimig? Cecilia? ;-)

Nice, mini-ITX does seem to make more sense for it.
