If you are selling the Original WB3.1 floppy disks with the Hard drive, then you are okay.

Hard drives are generic items. It is like saying that the petrol in my Car is Audi petrol !!

There is no such thing as an Amiga hard drive. There is no such thing as a PC hard drive. There is no such thing as a Mac hard drive.

A hard drive is a hard drive. It will work on any computer with the correct hardware interface. If you choose to sell it pre-configured for an Amiga then that's up to you.

I see that you're selling more HD's with WB3.1. If you don't supply them with original disks you do realise that's piracy don't you?

Well, no your not really wrong.  There is no such thing as a "PC" harddrive or an "Amiga" harddrive or a "MAC" harddrive or a "Linux" harddrive for that matter.

A harddrive is a harddrive.  You buy it from the manufacturer IE. from Conner, or Western Digital, or Maxtor, or Seagate, or whomever, you don't buy it from "PC" or "Amiga" or "Microsoft" as they don't MAKE harddrives.

Maybe what he meant though was since this is a 3.5" inch harddrive it won't fit inside a standard A1200 with out an external case or some modification and/or 2.5 inch to 3.5 ide adapter etc.  A1200s are desigened to take standard 2.5" IDE/ATA harddrives or course.  So maybe that was what he was talking about??

Back in my day, we didn\'t have water. We only had Oxygen and Hydrogen, and we\'d just have to shove them together.

Flashlab has a point. If you sell the HD preinstalled with some OS, you must provide the legal copy of the OS in question. It is piracy if the OS is not included.

Also, it would be smart to point out that this hard drive does not mount to A1200 without some additional hardware. Also, some case modification is required.

[EDIT] Ah, AmigaHeretic beat me to it [/EDIT]

Hey, I'm a retard for pointing something out that can really get you into trouble with eBay? Thanks "guru"-666. At least the 666 makes sense in your nick.

How is it piracy since you need the ROMs in order for the files on the HD to be of any use?

Now if he is including ROM images on the HD, then that is a different question.

It is piracy, ragardless of if KS ROM is needed or not.

With your logic it should be perfectly OK to sell piles of CD-RW discs with pre-burnt AmigaOS 3.9 or Windows XP Pro (+ product key written on the label). After all, the CD-RW is useless without a computer!

And in context of this auction, the actual value is in the installed OS itself (and it WOULD actually have value, if the AmigaOS 3.1 disks and manuals were included!). Frankly, this particular HDD is worthless. Try ebaying 115MB 3.5" HDD and see how well it sells...
