Ok just for fun (I know its been done before), but I was wondering what model of Amiga is every-1's favorite out there.
I guess Mine would be the Commodore Amiga (later dubbed the A1000) because it was the first and the Keyboard Garage was just kool. My runner up is the A4000 toaster system, it was just plain fun. I also have to throw in the Walker Demo on the A2000, I remember the first time i saw it, amazing. |

Too me the best is the A1200. AGA and accellerator madness. I like the PCMCIA slot that I can use for NIC, Compact Flash and SCSI expansion. Having a tiny sized harddisk storing a crazy 4GB of data I think is pretty cool. Also the formfactor, at least it does not remind me of a standard PC :-).
But the prize for cuteness goes to the A600. Just too bad it cannot be expanded (accellerators are too hard to come by) and ECS is somewhat limited IMHO. I'm just not into big box amiga's.

A1000, first real computer I used and learned on over many long nights that turned into mornings.
A2000, waited a long time to afford to upgrade to this model, but shortly after getting it I was allowed to get a 0% interest loan from work for computer equipment, up to $3,000 US dollars and I loaded that A2000 up with a bridgeboard, 030 accellerator w/SCSI controller and 8mb RAM, DCTV and several other software titles. Spent every penny of that $3,000 plus more in one day at an Amiga shop that I drove 3 hours to get to. Next big step was to the A4000D in a Power Tower w/Video Toaster/Flyer setup which I later added a CyberStorm PPC to. I have aquired every Amiga in between and like the A3000 a lot too, but the three above were milestones for me in my Amiga journey. The last piece of the collection was the rare A3000T, which I think is probably the best made Amiga model and since it was the last one purchased, it also holds a special place in my vast collection. Amiga crazy??? You bet I am! Still looking for bits and software titles here and there. Someone is going to inherit a huge collection one of these days (hopefully far into the future). Just now trying to settle into semi-retirement and hope to spend many hours on my Amiga collection very soon. Just like the good old days! Hooray!

I sold all my Amigas except an A600. I love that one with its nice 1084S monitor. Wasn't the best model technically, but looks nice and is pretty small. Also I liked the CDTV. I used to like the A3000T, but never owned one and meanwhile I think it is just too big and even when given for free I wouldn't take it anymore... well, changing times. |

- 1200,
hard to beat this exellent and efficient design! A real amiga's amiga. - the 4000 tower it has 2 video slots so you can run a toaster AND a gfx card (like the piccasso IV) The ONLY amiga for me. -the 1000 it a sweet design, and I wanted ont eht emoment I first saw it! Keyboard garage and all.. niffty! -3000 tower by far the sturdiest amiga ever... that just how things where done during that time. However there are technical reasons this one does not win. -3000 d beautifull..... however horrable once you open it up! what cramped mess! -2000 ugly ugly ugly. Sorry Dommy you are wrong...while the 2000 WAS the flagship for a while the 3000 T adn the later the 4000 T where commonly know as the flagship. home made towers... NO, I have not seen one that did not look horrable and did not fall to pieces. |

For me it's the A3000 hands down, looks great, is built like a tank and the on board Amber chip makes life so much easier. However, the A3000 does have one major flaw, ZIP RAM, I hate it with a passion. I'm forced to either shell out for expensive RAM chips, an expensive accelerator or a super rare and outrageously expensive ZIP to SIMM converter.
