Waste of time if you ask me, there are too many programmable devices, you'll NEVER work out what they do.
You may be able to remake the PCB, you may be able to source all the chips, you may even be able to dump the ROM. What you wont be able to do is work out how to program this PLD / FPGA devices. |

Might I suggest a different tactic? Instead of doing the very-difficult/nearly-impossible and reverse engineering the FMV module. Make your own.
There are other video decoders that can handle the VCD formats, usually others as well. You could use the FMV design to give you hints as to how to provide the interface to the CD32 and software though. Andy |
