I just commited to buy a used Efika board (I'll leave the seller anonymous for now), and I'm interested in seeing what the other Efika owners out there have done with their systems.

As the title says; show me yours, and I'll show you mine (when it's ready). I have plans to mod an ITX case and slip the board into it.

So, what have you done with your Efika?
Which distro do you use, and for what purpose?

its not gonna bring you any amigaos 4.0, you know...... what is the point?... trick more oldtimers to buy crap that will not run amigaos 4.0??.. give it a rest!... all know that bbr is talking crap by now, it have been discused to death on aw.net allready...... :-x

No, c64_d0c is making a point. That whole Efika crap means nothing. It has nothing to do with AmigaOS whatsoever.
It sure don't bring us our precious Amiga back to live.

Well, there are different ways of making a point, and IMHO, that's not a great way to do it.

After all, the original poster was only asking what others have done or will be doing with their boards, not forcing anyone to buy one, and not even mentioning OS4...

Oh it is, speed and hw wise. But the efika isn't meant to be a desktop is it? Thing is: it's the only available hw atm. Sure there are other projects, but they have yet to deliver...and the peg2 isn't available anymore (well, production stopped).

But my point was: why shout at shurk and begin about the efika being a lame platform for aos-x ?

Well, it's pretty close to death...for the last 10 years hasn't it? I mean, neither OS4 or MorphOS stand a chance (commercially wise), so it's a hobby platform. And at that, I'm glad there is hw around capable of running OS4/MorphOS; I'd love to toy around with an efika running MorphOS.

So, what have you done with your Efika?

Well I first unwrapped it from the nice package: EFIKA

Then I got some 60GB 2.5" HDD, Radeon 9200, PicoPSU and USB keyboard/mouse combo for it, and built it into some small candy box (well it was plastic and easy to work with. Others have done much prettier stuff, so no pictures of this one :-))

Next I installed Debian GNU/Linux using the nice instructions & files provided at http://www.efika.info/

Which distro do you use, and for what purpose?

Well, Debian GNU/Linux unstable is there to allow nice remote file upload (scp, rsync) to aid development of the you-know-what OS for EFIKA. ;-)

I do have full X.org desktop installed aswell, but I don't use that much (in fact I don't use graphical linux at all, I'm just happier with the commandline, ssh+screen ftw!).
