Hi.. I need to replace the battery on my Blizzard ppc card. Before i go pulling at it, it seems to be held on either by a small clip that goes through the board or glue???
I did not want to pull at it incase i snap it off. Any advice would be helpful. thanks. Baz.

You need to unsolder it and install a new Panasonic VL2020 replacement battery. It's a rechargeable Lithium coin battery.

There is no bending/snapping off involved, unless you want to break things.
![]() You need a soldering iron and you need to heat up the two solder points that hold the battery pins connected to the BPPC board. These pins go through the board and appear on the other side. I suggest that you take the board over together with a replacement VL2020 battery to someone with good soldering experience/skills and have the dead battery replaced. If you don't have good soldering experience, this would be a bad place to start learning (e.g. the expensive and fragile BPPC card). |
