@Everblue

Many congratulations ! ! ! She looks a real beauty :-)

You must be so excited mate and the fun hasn't even begun until she arrives.

It was cheap at 299 EUR in my opinion. Its worth 200 EUR just not to have to keep searching for one eh? :-D

WOW this baby looks real clean & white ! I'ld have like to lay my hands on it for sure I think for that price it's really good. It will cost you more to get a decent cpu board but IMHO that's not really necessary depending on what you want to do with your amiga.

Looks exactly like mine apart from the floppy drives (I have the older style 1.5x height one).

Oh wait, you got it from the same seller as me!

You've even got the same DVD drive as what's in mine - it's a pretty damn nice match for the front of the case.

The seller seems to install that same desktop on all his A4000s for sale. My Amiga came with a ton of games and various apps included; I've reformatted and added a ton of new hardware inc. a new hard disk since then, but I kept all the games etc. that came with it.

Very nice, and congrats!

Is it worth keeping 2x floppy drives in it? Or I should use one of the floppy drive bays for something more usefel... and if yes, what could it be? Thanks!

E'Blue

PS. I guess its a good idea to open the Amiga up and check everything is in place before I switch the thing on?

I've put an IDE Iomega Zip drive in place of where your bottom floppy drive is. Handy for backing up and getting stuff in from a PC for example :-)

Prehaps you should switch it on first to be sure that you didn't cause a problem by opening it up. If it doesn't start up then have a look inside. But then again, its only the removal of two screws at the top rear of the case and it will lift up and off. You could then check that the CPU card and all RAM is seated properly etc. The A4000 is an absolute dream to get into, upgrade and look after.

Hmmm... the decision is really yours me thinks ;-)

Congrats! I just bought a vanilla 4000/040 myself for $240 USD (about $185 EUR)

Your 4000 certainly was cleaner than mine and more of complete package. I didn't get a mouse, manual or install disks. No CD/DVD drive and only one floppy. It did come with 1Mb Chip and 12Mb Fast and a 3 Gig HD.

I've since upgraged to 3.1 roms, dual floppy drives, CD-ROM drive, and 2Mb Chip/16Mb Fast. Next is OS3.9, PPC accelerator and graphics card.

@Everblue
With fear of bringing up the age-old topic once more, you should also check the RTC battery and replace it if it hasn't already been done.

Seller said he replaced it with a new one before sending, and there is no leakages on the board etc.

Do new batteries still leak? In other words, is there still a risk that the battery leaks in the future?

Yes, from the manufacturer's datasheet, they have a rated lifetime of 6 years at 20°C. If you operate them for any longer, they're liable to start leaking.
This is for the Ni-MH batteries, but also applies to the Ni-Cad ones as well.
