Old stuff yeah yeah who cares! My A1010 came today and while I certainly thought the floppy drive in my recently acquired, used A500 was noisy, now I have something to compare it to. The internal drive has what I'll call a scratchy rattle sound to it, while the external drive I'll describe as more of a high voltage hum; it sounds like more healthy mechanism. Is this just a possible difference in the actual drives themselves or is this something that's going to cause me trouble sooner rather than later?

Its difficult to tell from a description of a noise. :-)

I've owned an 1010 external since '93 that came with an original A1000, and the noise it makes isn't pleasant but works (knock on wood), especially compared to the very silent Roctec floppy drive I got and the original A3000 internal which is not working very good.
