Earlier I posted a message about a school still using an amiga in their tvstudio.

Well, I visited the folks today, and first he showed me an old a4000d, full of stickers, yellowed and nothing to brag about.

This was their replacement amiga he told me, since their main system had just stoped working one day.

So he showed me their main system.

An mint A4000T just sitting there in a corner with nothing to do...

Then he asked me, do you want it? Well its yours!

Presumably you would regard it as the holy grail /after/ you got it working? Or do you intend to transplant working A4k parts into the new-looking case?

Oh, I forgot to mention. I reseated the cpu card, and voila, booted right up :P

I will fix the a4000d for them, so that they can get the system up and working again. They have trouble with noise on the videoport. I hope I find some way, cause they really want to continue using amiga. Unfortunally they dont know anything about the machine or wb. All they know is scala

There is no difference between a4000d and 4000t regarding the rom?
I can put the 3.1 roms from my d into this t?

The roms for the tower are different, so you'll need to get yourself an extra pair.

Just opened the A4000D, I have never seen such a terrible battery state. I removed it emediatly ofcourse.

Inside I also found a card.

Great Vallet Products, fullsize card.
Has two sim slots, a lot of philips chips, an rj11 and an dsub 25 male connector.
And a green led inside marked: Valid output.

Anyone who can tell me what this is?

Just saw your other post about Tangen VGS..

IDEFAG SCHOOL in Tønsberg also used only Amiga's

I went there as an sound engineer and helped out with
their amiga's

I used a A2000 with Studio16 and it worked nicely:-)

I configed alot of A4000's as you did Ravnen they didn't know alot about setting up the system.
I knew more than the teachers about setting them up:-)

I managed to buy the rest of Amiga stuff they had just last summer:-)

I can't believe you just don't do the right thing and give them their A4000T back if it wasn't broken in the first place. Loose cpu cards are common. Think of the kids man!

Hehe. I told him what was wrong, but he didn't care.

All he wants is to get the system up and running, on his 4000D.

The amiga will only be working for the next two years, then they need something thats handles 16:9, and hdtv.
