Help, i need some bad help!
I'm really new to this world taht seems magic, the amiga 500 world; i'd like to make it run a bit, but as i found the machine in a junkyard, i've got no disks with it, and as i start it, it just displays a picture of a hand holding a disk on wich is written "Amiga Work Bench", with the quote V 1.3 under. that's all; what do i do now, how do i get the stuff?
That's all, nothing more.

you need the workbench 1.3 or 1.2 diusks, depending what roms you have in it, you can try ebay, not sure where else yopu can legally get them.....perhaps software hut has used software....

The pic of the hand holding the disk is your cue to insert a disk. It will boot it up automatically.

Almost all A500 games will run directly off disk, just by inserting it into the disk drive.

If you run to run AmigaOS, you need "Workbench 1.3" disks. The latest version of AmigaOS is 3.9 and comes on CD only. Your machine is limited to running AmigaOS 1.3 because it has a 1.3 ROM chip inside it. OS 1.3 is not very useful these days anyway. Old unexpanded A500's are best for playing old games, and not much else.

You can download A500 games off the net in ".ADF" form. You need special hardware to write these ADF images to real amiga disks though, because a PC's floppy drive controller is different to the Amigas one. ADF's are mostly illegal (being pirate copies), but there are legal downloads at http://www.back2roots.org/ .
