Does anyone else use SoundFX? I registered the program a while back, but I'm just now getting around to trying it. I installed it with the script. My system easily meets the software's resource requirements. But for some reason it crashes my system every time. I've tried pruning various drivers and programs I have in wbstartup or s:user-startup, nothing I've done has changed the behavior at all. It crashes at the "65%" mark as its loading itself into memory. The crash occurs as the message "creating ports.." appears in the app window at exactly the 65% mark.

I run SoundFX with Scout already running in the background, and it looks like SoundFX succeeds in creating a port for itself, but looking at the address of the port it created it looks like its trying to occupy the same address space as Workbench?

In Scout under "ports" these are the addresses listed for SFX_REXX and Workbench

SFX_REXX: 0x 09CD BF00
Workbench: 0x 09CD 40CC

Anyone have any ideas why this sw won't run on my computer?

Have you updated to the lastest version of SoundFX (I think it's 4.1 or 4.2).

It's supposed to be a great program. I registered long ago. However I find that it's very buggy when trying to manipulate files larger than available memory (using the program's built-in VMEM). I almost always get crashes.
