Default VGA monitors on A1200 make higher res and graphic speeds?

Hello everyone! How I can connect a VGA Monitor on my A1200? And, i have also a original Commodore 1084S monitor, so is better than a VGA for the AMIGA?

I wanna install AmigaOS 3.9, powering up my AMIGA with a Blizzard 1240/040 with 32MB RAM and the KS-ROM 3.1, but i want also to have nice GUI, high resolution interlaced with no flickering.

Two ways:

1)A simple adapter 23-pin D to 15-pin D adapter. They cost about €5. HOWEVER you can only run in special DOUBLE modes (DBLPAL, DBLNTSC). Workbench is fine but almost no games will use these modes.

2)A Scandoubler. They come in two flavours, internal and external and cost about €80 to €100

If you do not want to buy a scandoubler then yes a 1084S would be better than a VGA monitor, but it will flicker in interlaced modes. If you get a KVM switch you could use both and get the best of both. VGA for Workbench (DBLPAL) and 1084S for games. You may need to make up your own cables though.

Then you are going to need a scandoubler with built in flicker fixer.

The main ones are called Indivision / Toastscan (external) and Scan Magic.

If you want higher resoulutions (ofcourse) you would be best of buying a mediator (pci) or a zorro daughter board ...

This means you also need a tower, but you will be able to use cd-roms,harddrives,soundcards etc..

If you only want to use a vga monitor on your Amiga with the same resoultions as now, a scandoubler is ok..

You also need the scandoubler for displaying old games etc, that relies on the Aga and not working on gfx card..

Don't bother with OS3.9 unless you have a graphics card for your Amiga. Just my opinion, but it really isn't worth going above OS3.1 if you're using slow old AGA. And to make 3.1 look prettier, search Aminet.

You refer to MUI? How work it?

And, AmigaOS 3.1 can go over internet, use AMPlifier, read E-Mail, and do some thinks like AmigaOS 3.9 ? (Using also the quick program selector)
