Help! HDD RDB Recovary info needed!
Hi all,
I just tried to install a IDE CD-ROM drive (On the IDE chain in my A1200T, of course) and to my horror I have just found that the 4 Gig SCSI drive no longer boots. It seems like the HDD is still o/k, partioning programs still recognise the drive o/k, but none of the partitions are visible any more (Total of 5). I have tried RecoverRDB from AmiNet, but after about 5 hours of rattling it still hasn't finished analysing the whole of the drive, and has reported several partitions (More than 5) that start AND end at cluster 0. Am I just not leaving the program long enough? Can anyone advise of any other recovery programs that I can try? Btw, unfortunatly I havn't got a RDB backup for this system. Thanks, Hodgkinson. |

Try RDBRecov. It has more options and can be quite quick when configured correctly. Bye, Thomas |

AFAIK you have to save somewhere safe the rdb when the disk is ok, and when/if you have any problem, put it back in the disk with an rdb tool.

@amije: you cannot restore what has not been backed up. Now he has to recover. It's possible, but it needs its time (the entire HDD has to be searched for partitions). Bye, Thomas |
