Amiga Repair Centre France
« on: September 07, 2006, 07:04:05 AM »
Hi you all,

I recently got a Micronik BB from ebay. Without any luck because it dind't do much on arrival.

After sending it to Jean Jaques in France to take a look at it, he told me that is wasn't working wel other then the standard 020 cpu. That was after he replaced the crystal that was broken.

Pitty the zorroIII doesn't work because the 3000/4000 cpu slot ain't 100%. And it locks up with any other board. EXEPT the blizzard 1230IV.

So iam very pleased that Jean Jaques got it working. He didn't charge me anything other then for the stamps. This man is okay in my book

Another testimonial here. He fixed and upgraded the broken BPPC that Effy sold me. A-OK in my book. 6/5 stars!

@nyteshade

Great to hear!

What was wrong with it and did you let him upgrade it to a 68060??

Jean-Jacques is indeed great with Amiga hardware. Also for upgrading your BlizzardPPC 68040 to an 68060.

I just got my second A4000 back today from Amiga Center France.  It`s running great and the board looks cleaner looking too, no more nasty corrosion. It shipped from France to Germany in 4 Days.

It is so good to hear that there is a skilled and trusted person who still do repairs for Amiga hardware!
 But what about post offices? Are there any horror stories in which someone sent the card to this repair center and the parcel got "lost" or reached its destination in a very bad condition?
 And is there a way to claim your money back from the post office(s) in these cases?

Speaking from experience, I recommend you do not send your hardware via DHL.  Miserable experience.  Just send it using regular mail and you'll be fine.
