Default Re-format ? AmiKit stil there?

Hi all, I had to take WInXP Pro off my PC last night due to a few problems.
Well any way I reformated my HD using a 15 Gig partition as C: on an 80 Gig HD and put on Windows 2000 Pro.
All is well as expected.
Ok, right now, I have a few other seperate partitions for others things on my PC like D:work, E:Word, F:Video, G:Games and so on.
Well on my G drive I have Amikit, now before when I had XP after doing a past re-format and re-installing XP I had to re-install Amikit and all that went with it.

BUT, when doing a complete format and then putting Windows 2000 Pro on, I clicked on the amikit Icon (on a seperate partion as before) and it went straight in, with no problems what so ever, no re-instalation of any kind and all is there I have checked.

Has any one had this before?

I may well try an experiment and put Amikit on a Zip disk to see what happens.

Mike.

This is because Amikit uses Winuae, and winuae doesn't need install to function. the install script of Winuae only copy the files to a desired location, so no libraries or complex registry stuff is done in the installation. This manner you can carry your own Winuae across other win machines and it will perform perfectly(assuming the other machines are powerful enough to run your configs).

just be carefull when installing AmiKit update packages. The update installer sets the path according to the location where the AmiKit was installed. In your case, you have to do that manually.
There is a way to have your AmiKit "officially installed" again - without loosing your current AmiKit files of course. Just install AmiKit again (using the installer) and then delete all the files from the installed directory and move there your current AmiKit files instead.
