I haven't really looked at what they're offering, but I'm assuming it's available as an XFree86 driver, from what you guys are rolling on about.
The best use for SciTech's products have, previous to this new embeddable gig, been in the corporate realm. There's little point for them with XFree86 on your personal machine (presuming your personal machine already works properly), but imagine being in charge of an office environment with heterogenous hardware- or even worse, hardware that's homogenous with a poorly-supported chipset? mdma: XFCE? :ranting:
