Default Strange Df2: error
Hi:
i wondering if anyone knows why if i plug an Amiga 1011 external floppy drive, i get a strange error on screen telling me DF2:Error.
This is a unit i just got from ebay. Any ideas?

Hi Rod,

It could be a dry joint in one of the connections on one of the pcb coils of the drives brushless motor but this usually gives an intermittant fault hmm maybe servo IC is dead. Drive tracking could be out or head damaged or the Drive Logic gate chips are bad on the external pcb.

and it works nicely as df1: ?
maybe someone changed the floppy and played with DS1, DS0 jumpers..
