Hi there!
![]() I hope it's alright if I post a wanted thread here, I wasn't sure of anywhere better to ask. ![]() I'm looking to buy an Amiga 4000 setup. I'll consider anything really, but I'd really prefer something that is excellent to mint in terms of condition. In other words, a machine that's had years of careful treatment and that's been really well looked after. As for spec, I'm not really too bothered about whether it's an '030 or an '040 - I'd be intending to upgrade it in the future if it's not already. Bog standard unupgraded is fine. Boxed or unboxed, it doesn't matter, just so long as the base unit is in excellent, undamaged and unabused condition. No screws missing, no snapped/cracked plastics, no extreme yellowing (a little is fine, it's only natural), no huge scratches, no corroded motherboards... you know what I mean ![]() ![]() I'll need to see pictures of it, as many as possible and as high resolution as possible. If anyone has a machine that they'd consider for sale, I'd love to hear from you! ![]() I'm willing to pay roughly £250 for a nice example. I'm flexible though, it depends on what you can offer me, and of course how much you feel your machine is worth! ![]() I've seen the '040 on eBay at the moment, and I'm interested, but I wanted to see if anyone can offer me anything better on here first, without the pressure of eBay. I'm a long time Amiga user - A500 was my first computer, A1200 was my second - and I've had years of fun with them. But my machines are on their last legs and are as good as worn out. Since when I was younger I've always dreamed of being able to own an A4000 and have all that power... ![]() Please - somebody give me that opportunity! ![]() EDIT: Couple more details; I'm in the UK, and could pay by PayPal if that's your thing. ![]() Cheers. |

Has the keyboard developed a "yellow sticky" disease?! :-)
Seems a fair price, shame they don't appear very often in NZ! - Ali |

The longer it takes to get sold, the more the stickies will appear - so come on folks, bid and buy and save a poor defenseless A4000 keyboard! :-D

This is the other one that I saw on eBay. :-) Thanks for posting; it's a candidate.
I've had a couple of offers, with photos pending, so I'm waiting on those. Either way, I'm still open to anyone else offering me the perfect Amiga 4000. Keep contacting me! Email is daleyo [the at sign] gmail [dot com] Cheers. :-D |

Well guys, I finally found one in Germany, on eBay.
Here it is: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=8802979483 I didn't think I'd be able to do much better than that, so she's mine. :-) I plan to get it all fixed up and nicely upgraded as I get some money together. Do you think I did alright? I got it for less than I was willing to pay, and it has a DVD-ROM, undamaged motherboard, Buster 11, Kick 3.1, and 8GB hard drive. And a curiously modded keyboard with a reset switch...! Hmm. :-D I'll be wanting a UK keyboard anyway, later. Anyway, I'll be selling some A1200 bits soon, so keep a lookout. Thanks for those who offered me a few deals. :-) |

If you feel happy with your purchase, then you did alright. That is a very clean looking 4000! Plus you got a HD floppy and a DVD-ROM. Good job.
