A bunch of researchers from a uni in Amsterdam have written a proof-of-concept RFID virus to wake up the world about the possibility of malicious software spreading via RFID chips. It's tinfoil hat time! And be sure to cover your groceries and cat in tin foil too!

IMHO, I think they're being a bit sensationalist about it, from a quick glance making it sound as if it's the end of the world for RFID.
Then again, it's a pretty bad f*ck up on the part of the coders who wrote the RFID->SQL interface, blindly accepting data without checking it's validity. ..just never figured peanut butter could be so 733t |

:roll: My first impression is that if the software that opertates the RIFD reader would just read the data without obeying it, it shouldn't matter what the data was.
It seems to me that the virus programmer is taking advantage of other programmers' apathy and laziness. I'll have to read the article next before pondering further... |
