Let me see if i understood you correct you want to scan doubble the amaiga 15khz to 31khz so that the amiga can be viewed on a pc monitor. Well it does not give you more colours or colour palette than the AGA allows, but you can use bigger screen modes.

With most adapters this will remain the same. Only certain graphic boards allow you to specify screens with more colors and higher resolutions.
If you state your brand and model adapter we can say more about it...

As you can read on that page:

Quote:
This adapter allows you to use the following display modes
To be more specific: you can use *only* these modes if you use that adapter. You won't be able to see the early-startup menu, you won't be able to see any old games. And the resolution still remains the same, the only difference is that you can get 640x512 without interlace. But when using these modes, the Amiga gets really slow, especially if you use many colors. And you won't get more colors then now. This adapter only makes it possible to *connect* a PC monitor to the Amiga, it does *not* change anything on the Amiga's behaviour or capabilities. The Amiga will not be able to do more than it can do now.

Bye,
Thomas

I have an A1200 with a scandoubler/flicker-fixer and that actually REDUCES the amount of colours the A1200 can output (due to it's own hardware limitations).

The only hope for us A1200 owners is to buy a PowerPC CPU card with a Blizzard-Vision GFX card or to rip the A1200 apart and put it in a PC tower case with a busboard for A4000 GFX cards.

It's been a pain in the arse for 14yrs! Only now is there talk of a `Power Vixxen' integrated CPU/GFX card for A1200 to let you use more colours and bigger resolutions/screenmodes.
