Hi,

Syntax is everything here. Use:

"ed startup-sequence" and place your assigns close to the end of the list. While I'm thinking about it, Make an assign that starts with" ;Assign Games. "
And then you can add all the games you have after that. End with " ;End Games "

ed s:startup-sequence

To delete a line press Ctrl-B.
To save changes press Esc and enter X.
To leave the editor without changing press Esc and enter Q.

If you are running Workbench 2.0 or above, you must not change startup-sequence but use user-startup instead.

If you have OS3.5 or 3.9, there is EditPad which is a more user friendly editor than Ed.

Bye,
Thomas

On workbench 2.0 and above the startup-sequence calls for the user-startup automatically.

If you edit the user-startup your Amiga will read it after the startup-sequence.

Just enter ed s:user-startup. If it appears to be empty, it didn't exist and will be created when you save your changes. If it was not empty, just add your new lines to the end of the file.

The bottom area of Startup-Sequence should contain the lines

if exists s:user-startup
execute s:user-startup
endif

That's where user-startup is called.

Bye,
Thomas
