Get a Scquirrel SCSI and a SCSI CDROM.

The best way. Do'nt wreck the look of your case by having flatcables stick out.

An internal SCSI will also work. Blizzard and Apollo accellerators support these. You can leas the scsi out of your case by using the little door on the back (near the floppy).

Good luck

Does the Scquirrel connect via PCMCIA? As i was planning on using this port for my network card. Is there any way of connecting an IDE CDROM drive?

Thanks

Nick

You can connect an IDE CD-ROM to an A1200 directly to the IDE header inside, and run the cable outside. It will look nasty but it will work. You'll need the appropriate software to run ATAPI devices.

you must setup the jumbers of cdrom as slave and if you run amiga os 3.5 or 3.9 you can control the cd with the standard software of the os. (cachecdfs scsi.device)

-edit-
it's better to power the cdrom with an external psu, if you use the standard a1200 ''brick'' psu, because it can't handle big loads.

edit2-
old scquirrel devices conflict with accelarators as blizzard as far as i remember it.

Doesn't have to look nasty if you use one of the round ide cables.
Comes in a lot of colors too.
Would have to make a hole for it though.
Anyway good luck

One of these...

plus an external 5.25 usb housing and you're all set.
