Okay, I finally got my NetGear MA401 wireless PCMCIA network card working with a registered version of Miami v3.2b. I have Kickstart v40.68 and Workbench v45.1 with a Phase5 1260 @50mHz w/SCSI interface and 48mb Fast RAM.
Miami says it is online, but I can't get either of the two web browsers on my hard drive to access the Internet yet. I am trying AWeb 3.3.161SE and Voyager v2.70 demo version. Both return the error that the host names of any sites I try are "Unknown", so I must have something set up wrong, or Miami is not really connected like it thinks it is. Any ideas or help???

Can you ping your router? Perhaps the encryption as not been set up for the prism2.device in user-startup.
Also might have to manually set a DNS server. If you can ping your router, try going to the url: http://72.14.207.99 if it works, then it is a DNS problem, if not its something wrong in your network config. I have never got Miami or Genesis to work properly on a DHCP server provided by the LAN, if you have the same problems I did, you may have to set the IP and gateway manually. Thing to do is check your IP address, make sure it has been provided by your router. P.S. I will post your disks I found for the CyberstomPPC/CybervisionPPC very soon, just been a little busy last week! I have your address Dave, from the original ebay sale

Appears to be a DNS server error. How do I find my DNS server address or name using my Mac Powerbook that is sharing the wireless DSL router?

@ leofoe, I know I can get the info on a PC, but don't know how to do it on a Mac (only been using Mac's for a few years). In fact, I don't know how to get to a command line on the Mac. One of the things I have liked about my Powerbook is that from the first day I got it, I have not really had to know anything about how it works. I just turn it on and it does everything else for me. Has it's upside and downside, but sometimes you just want somethings to work without having to configure and scratch your head and reconfigure it every few weeks.

If your using a router then its IP is either 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1 Ive yet to see any router have anything other than either of the above 2 addresses.
Most routers have their own DNS servers so you can just put the routers address in as the DNS server in miami. Also you can normally access the routers setup page by going to its ip in your (any) web browser. Hope that helps.

Actually...
You mentioned you have a DSL Wireless modem, and since you're in the States, I'm betting you've got a 2-Wire brand modem/router/WAP. If this is the case, then the setup screen is at 192.168.1.254. If you're using this with another router (Linksys, Netgear, etc.), then you need to put that modem into "Bridge" mode, and then setup your router accordingly. Just Google the modem's make and model with the keyword "bridge" to find out how (e.g., "2-wire 1070 bridge" or "2-wire 1070 bridge linksys wrt54g"). For one of the best forums on cable/dsl and equipment, try these guys. banzai |

@Ryu, Okay, found my router IP address, accessed it's webpage, got the DNS number, which is the same as the router number. There is a checkbox to verify DNS servers in the version of Miami I am using, but no place to enter the DNS server address. When I go Online, the Gateway in Miami always changes to match the Netmask, but says it is "Online".
Confused and Dazed???

@banzai, Thanks for the link, and yes you are right, my router is a 2wire with an address of 192.168.1.254. I have set the router network name SSID and WEP encryption number in SetPrism2Defaults in my User-Startup I am not having any trouble with the router or DSL service and I think I might be getting online with Miami, but since the DNS server is not setup correctly in Miami none of my browsers can access the Internet. maybe I should try another TCP stack?

I have also looked for Genesis on my hard drive since I am running OS3.9, but this A1200 was loaded when I bought it, so the previous owner may not have installed Genesis, or deleted it after installation.
