Default Apollo 1240: replacing 1240 cpu with 1260

Hi!
I would like to find instructions on how to replace a 1240 cpu with a 1260 on a Apollo 1240 turbocard for A1200.
Can anyone here help me with that?
Thanks in advance for any help.

Just to let you know that in order for this to work you need:

- a 5V to 3.3V voltage converter in order for the 060 to work.
- an 060 compatible firmware (your current eprom is 040 compatible only)

I believe that Amiga Repair Center in France may be able to help you out completely with this mod, for a price that is. :-)

Is the 040 CPU not soldered to the board?

You need to replace some diodes, the voltage regulator, probably the crystal (unless you have an a1240@25MHz), change a jumper (probably zero ohm link) and one resistor.

Here is an article in French.

Thanks to you both!
Also for the article, but that one is for Blizzard 1240, not Apollo..:-)
JJB was able to help regarding the voltage converter, but he didnt have the A1260 eprom.

Per-Gunnar, if you can find a dump of the ROM in question, I may be able to burn one for you.
