Using a Block medium in MakeCD above 4GB barrier
« on: February 03, 2006, 03:37:40 PM »
Is it safe to do this? I just want to confirm that others have done it as I've had bad luck with other programs that write data to raw blocks of the drive.

Thanks.

I wouldn't dare it without a complete backup, no matter what others say.

Why would you want to use a block medium anyway ? What's wrong with image files ?

Bye,

I want to reorganize the upper partition layout of my drive and I thought I might as well set up a CD emulation partition. My CD burner is quite crappy so I thought a dedicated partition might help avoid buffer underruns. I guess I'll just use an image file on such a partition.

Or replace the burner :-)
