I've installed a Spider II USB card and use the Poseiden stack. USB mice and keyboards work fine but having attached a USB printer and card reader I'm baffled as to how they work. In devs UPAR and UMSD are mentioned however if I want to print or view data on a SD card how do I do it? I use Turbo Print so how can that be configured with the Poseiden stack.

@lanoakley
The best place to get support on the Poseidon stack is HERE. It's run by the man who writes all the Amiga/PegasOS USB stuff, but he's not very friendly with Elbox. Even so, if you use Poseidon with the Spider II you're entitled to support, either from him or from Elbox. JaX

I just had this issue recently. In the poseidon user guide (in your help: directory probably), called poseidon.guide, under the heading class drivers/printer.class it states:
In turboprint just enter usbparallel.device as the parallel.device to use and select the correct printer driver for it. That's it. Weell.... for me I had to remove my printer driver, install it again, set port to device (turboprefs>Printer tab) and enter usbparallel.devie as the device (unit 0). The unit number is generated by trident - if you open trident anad look at the log it will tell you which unit number your printer is mounted at. If you have a printer driver for your printer using vanilla printer.device you could also try changing the settings in prefs rinters to use usbparallel.device - it may work, it may not.btw - usbparallel.device is generated runtime by trident, it does not need to be 'found' or installed in your devs drawer.

Absolutely spot on with this advice. My Epson 750 lives !!
At least now rather than posting questions or committing instructions to memory I can print them - a huge bonus. Thanks !!! Ian |
