Default Deleting Folders error(3.9)

I've now got a new problem on my amiga, Whenever I try to delete an unused folder on OS3.9, I always get a AsyncWB error "Error while deleting "folder Name" object in use. Retry results in the same error message and skip well that just does'nt do anything I've not even opened the folder I've just highlighted it and then selected delete. So any ideas on whats causing this im using the latest SFS from aminet.

Hmmm... Maybe you have an assign set up for it? Type Assign in a shell window, that'll give you a list of your current assigns and the directories they point at. If one is assigned (and it's not needed), you can probably just remove an entry in S:Startup-sequence or S:User-startup to sort your problem out...

If you're getting rid of a program you used to have installed, this is more than likely the case. The program probably put an assign in the User-startup on installation and didn't remove it when uninstalling...

Thanks for the assign hint, but I dont think that will solve the problem as it doesnt matter if its an Folder that was created through an installer or if I have just created a new folder e.g for mp3s etc. When ever I try to remove any folder I get this error message on any partition so it abit strange cause its never did this before.

Have you tried removing the drawer from a Shell or from Directory Opus (or similiar program)?

Actually I too have started to experience this quite often lately. No assigns, nothing at all binding the drawer (or so it seems), but until I have rebooted the system the drawer will fail to be deleted (and sometimes I have even had problems rewing certain drawers after rebooting, although more seldom).

Something has made the system behave like this, because I did not experience this as often before, but I have not clue as of what could be the reason.

Hello Nasty,

I had the same problem until I updated the boing upgrades
version one and also version 2.As OS3.9 had few bugs
and these updates work. The only problem is I would not
know where to find these updates as H&P does not want anything to do with Amiga. If you email me I might have
both upgrades for you.Merv

@ Framiga

I'm unsure of the version of SFS I'm using at present, I do know it was the latest version uploaded to aminet. but I cant check it as aminet seems to be down

@ amiga1084

I have both of the boing bags installed, I always follow this guide LINKY and 9/10 times it works perfect with no problems atall but for some reason this latest install has been nothing but problematic and it took me 7-8 installs to get it to run this way. So I'll wait until aminet appears again and check with SFS version I have and then do a refomat and install just incase it is a issue with the version of SFS. And thank you for the offerfor both boing bags :-)
