Default Demo scene book: Freax

Just ran into a new book about the demo scene in the old days. Saw it at vesalia.de and thought it looked interesting. So has anybody here read the book / seen it IRL? In that case, is it worth the 34euros (sorry don't feel like turning into $ :-P) it is going to cost me to get it?

Of course the value of the book depends on the reader, so I will probably buy it at some time no matter what people say, but I would like to hear som opinions anyway. :-)

It's ok. Some nice screenshots, but it's not that well written. One of the problems is the grammar. For example the first sentence on the back of the book reads
"this book is stopping a gap".

however it does have some interesting history of the scene (A lot taken from guides like scenery etc).

My book recommendations for this xmas would be "the rise and fall of commodore" www.commodorebook.com (or www.amigakit.co.uk for uk guys)

Now THAT IS a REALLY great read!!![quote]

You can find some feedback from pouet.net: Freax vol. 1. - Feedback thread.

I have the book and I have read it. buzz is right, it indeed has lots of grammar and spelling mistakes, and even some factual errors.

Regardless, the contents seriously kick ass. If you're into scene, demos or computing history, and don't mind the small problems, it sure is worth it.
