Just purchased a kickflash card and wanted to install it in my A4000D cyberstormppc with mediator (voodoo3/fastethernet/tv-card/spider).
It didn't show up anywhere not in early startup menu or with the flash-tool(no flash card comment) doesn't matter jumper closed or not.
Tried it in an other A4000 with a normal daughterboard and it was recognized straight away.
So I removed the PCI cards and the pci bridge ...no luck.
Installed a original daughterboard and yes it showed up.
So it seems it doesn't like each other.
Anyone else tried a kickflash with a mediator?
Did elbox put a halt for using the kickflash so you must use the e-flash??

I use a Kickflash with Mediator 4000Di and it works fine.

Do you have it installed the correct direction (component side up)?
Did you try another Zorro slot?

Yes installed it the right way up.
Did try the bottom slot and the upper slot no luck.
Maybe you have an other revision of mediator busboard?
Strange because the card shows up nucely in an other 4000 and when I install a normal daughterboard in this one.

Is this the only Zorro card you have or could you try other cards ? Perhaps the Zorro part of your Mediator bus board is defect.

I use a Highway USB, a X-Surf, an eFlash4000 and a FastATA4000 along with a Voodoo3 and a 100MBit Realtec NIC in the Mediator4000D and all cards work fine.

Well I tried it again and now it is been recognized?????
Very strange but what the ... if it works right?
Now to get the thing going with the romupdates.
Did everything according to manual but it doensn't do the update.
I formatted the card installed the firmware(v 1.0) and installed rom update(BB 2).
Also have set the NOROMUPDATE after setpatch but it doesn't do anything it seems.
Manual also seems dated as there is not spoken of any exec.lib/scsi.device/ramlib etc where the program (coyoteflash) is askinf for to install with it or not.
Stated yes to all.
Oh also said no against the formatting tool which is for replacing the 3.0 rom?????As I have 3.1 offcourse.
Hope to get it going!!!

Aahh found it it needed a newer firmware(was 1.0 now using 1.6).
Works nice now.
Any tips for more files to put in this card?
