Default What is this hardware? :-)

Hello.

Here is a little board, apparently for video slot, with almost no electronic and a DB23 output only.

See pics below:

What could be the purpose of this hardware?

Thanks.

That board actually "does" nothing, it seems it merely transfers the video signal from the video slot out to the backplane. Why this is needed I've no idea since afaik all Amigas with a video slot already have a DB23 video connector... The only thing I can think of is that it's designed for running a 2nd monitor for demonstration or display purposes, perhaps for showing on a large screen a presentation already playing on the main screen...

It's Dual Mon for the Amiga man!

Can you imagine having two 1084's hooked up to a mil spec A2000?

Well, i'm already on dual monitors on my B2000 with both the Amber card and the Spectrum 28/24 RTG, and it's not really dual mon.

I guess this board won't allow to have a différent display than the main video connector?

Thanks guys anyway

Actually, I bet this would be nice for users who want to seperate their VT/Editing equipment. Say a Genlock on one and a ScanDoubler that doesn't like said Genlock on the other. Just a thought.

Mac Mini 1.5GHz, that might run MorphOS someday, when the fools who own it come to the realization that 30 minutes just isn't enough time to play with it enough to decide whether or not you like it enough to cough up $200.

- Someone please design SOME kind of DIY accelerator for the A4000. -

From the function it is pretty much the same as this card I guess:

But it is OCS (not even ECS note the short connector)
