Default compiler recomendations

Hi Peeps,

I know its been asked before over and over but I'd like to get a C++ compiler on my amiga, and I'm looking for recommendations.

Basically free is best. I've got the ndk, what else do I need?

What compilers do you guys use on 68k amigas? SAS C? GCC?

'elp. :-)

GCC is the only free C++ compiler for Amiga 68k but if you want to program in regular ANSI C I'd recommend VBCC instead. It's easier to configure than GCC and optimizes as well if not better than GCC.

Cool I will look at them both.

Is there anything else you think I'll need to get started? I'm assuming the NDK should have the headers etc that I'll need.

Cheers fella.

I'm not sure how much documentation the NDK has with it but if you have the Amiga Developer CD then you not only get the NDK but lots of documentation. Unfortunately most of the documentation on there is outdated.

Here is the link to the latest version of VBCC.
