Heya!

I just "patched" my old muimaster.library with this muimasterlibrary020.lha, thjis made a new muimaster.library in RAM:

I copied it to my LIBS: (and backed up the older), but now I always get a connect error in AMIRC (can't assign requested address) and port seems to be 0 always

I deleted this new library and replaced the older one, but now whenever I try to load AMIRC or AMIFTP I get a fatal error message...

So, could any1 help me out with this one? I've tried everything, even deleting and copying with no Startup-Sequence, I use Amirc V 3.5.25

While the (unofficial) 68020 patch for MUI really doesn't work, you
did reboot the machine before restarting AmIRC? Seems so. Perhaps your
configuration (either the irc client, or the MUI prefs in envarc:mui)
for AmIRC got corrupted. I too, once ran into the "port 0" error, it
didn't take much guessing then.

You did make a backup before you installed the patch?
Just replace the mui.library off the original disk or an old cucd disk etc.

I think the unofficial mui 68020 patch actually originated from a hacking group.
And it works for me (i`m still wary about it though), although i haven't seen a marked improvement.

In what way does it not work?

I had nothing but problems with the 020+ patch.

At the time, I was writing an MUI based program, and it kept bombing out on me. The debugger and compiler couldn`t detect any errors, the code itself looked fine.
Finally, after wasting 2 days trying to fix the "bug", I reinstalled the original mui.library, and my prog ran fine! DOH
