I've downloaded a nice jpeg picture to use as background in WB...just for fun i chose a picture that hade over over thousends of colors...i'm using a A1200 030/50mhz/32mb RAM and AGA so...anyway...ofcourse it didn't work...it was a jpeg picure after all...
But...just for fun i tried to load it in Personal Paint...it could load jpeg pictures. The picture did take some time to load but after a while (don't know how long time...maybe 30sek or something) it change res. I'm using a VGA monitor. Everything did get black and after a while i saw the image...and, i can't se any color changes! Okey, the image is darker, but it looks better than before!
And, the screen is in some sort of super high res mode...probably 800x600 cuse that's the res of the image, but how is this possible? Is it possible to change the workbench screen to this res? And where did it get all thos colors from? :-o

Personal Paint does some reasonably good color mapping to 256 colors. It doesn't support HAM8 mode or the copper so I have to assume that your image wasn't using many colors to start with. (For example a greyscale image won't change at all because 256 shades of grey is all a JPEG can hold also.)
