Default New Amigas

Hi I read awhile ago that there was supposed to be new Amigas coming out, what ever happened with that? If I had some room in the house I would set up my 500. I searched on the net and found a site that sells Amiga 1400s .But they dont say Amiga on the case. Same thing with something they call the Amiga One. Just curious. Thanks in advance Dan. :-?

AmigaOne, That would be it... Started out with the AmigaOne SE, then the AmigaOne XE, followed by the MicroA1(nanoITX).

You might want to check out the hobbyists choice for a modern day equivalent to Amiga, the Pegasos PowerPC which runs MorphOS, a new operating system that can run a lot of old Amiga applications.

:-D :-D :-D :-D

The AmigaOne runs AmigaOS 4 wich is the offical AOS or the real AmigaOS. MorphOS is just an OS that can run some Amiga-programs.

You can find information at http://www.intuitionbase.com/

http://www.amigaworld.net/

Look at the screenshots and read the information and you'll know what the new Amiga is. It is very nice I can tell you :-)

The Amiga 1400 was just a marketing name for an A1200 motherboard in a Micronik Infinitiv tower case with a Zorro2 busboard.

Nope. Amiga licenses and co-ordinates things, but AmigaOS is developed by a company called Hyperion, and Eyetech (a British company) deal with the AmigaOne. There's a small bit about the A1 on Amiga's site here, but they've never been the best at promotion, and that site concentrates mainly on other aspects of their business.

AmigaOS4 will run on other hardware though - an A1200 or A4000 can be expanded with an accelerator that gives them a PowerPC processor (the new AmigaOS uses the same processors as Macs) but there isn't that much point in buying one if you don't already have a decent "classic" Amiga.

BTW there's a video showing off a few of the latest features of AmigaOS4 here.

Yes, AmigaOne with Amiga OS4 are here... OS4 is the biggest leap forward ever for Amiga.

All the informations you need:
http://www.intuitionbase.com/

All the support and anwers you need:
http://www.amigaworld.net/

And also this website for support and (only) big news about OS4.

Or if you already have a PC you can try AROS which is an opensource AmigaOS API compatible OS for Intel/AMD processors. It has E-UAE so it can run all 68k Amiga software just like OS4 and MorphOS.

Community site is aros-exec

Looks like no one is mentioning the platform Amiga Inc. is pushing: Amiga Anywhere. Supposedly a cross-platform enabling technology that allows you to run apps over different architectures with no fuss. It sounds promising, but I don't understand why half of the games on http://www.amiga.com/shop/ mention a specific platform (Mainly Microsoft PocketPC QVGA version)? Doesn't that contradict the whole concept!

Anyway, there are a few different directions, so you're spoilt for choice really!

Thats coz it's not Amiga compatible in any way.

It can't run Amiga stuff, nor can it run on an Amiga.
