Default Emulators and more emulators

I was wondering if anyone knows what emulators are around and run well enough on a voodoo3/060 based amiga.
Im looking for amstrad,c64,megadrive,mastersystem or anything worth bothering with which can display on a voodoo card without the amiga custom chips.
Cheers

This is just a lame thought, but you could run UAE on you amiga.. and that way also run AGA/ECS emulators..

For a list of emulators I recommend a search on Aminet

Asp? It's the only emulator I've managed to get running nicely on my setup. I did have AmiMasterGear but since getting an '060 it runs too fast and besides it's no good to you as I don't think it's RTG compatible. MAME works but it's like treacle on an '060 for all but the oldest games (eg Pacman, Tempest). Maybe you could try Mac emulation? On my setup ('060, 128mb, Picasso IV) it's really nippy and I can run games such as SimCity 2000 (faster than the Amiga version!), Dark Forces and Warcraft II. I tried emulating a NES and a Gameboy under Mac emulation but it was too slow.

If anyone else has any input then it would be most welcome as I too am interested in emulation. Yes, I know Aminet has some emulators but some are not available (eg 68k AmiGenerator) so I'd like to hear from other Amigans who are into emulation.

Also, to the original poster, if you really like emulation then may I suggest getting a modded Xbox? I have one that I bought online, fully modded with software pre-installed, and I have never looked back - it really is the best machine you can get for emulation.

Yes, ASp works fine, even under AmigaOS4, it's pretty much system friendly. Other emulator which should work is AmOric, althought I needed NallePuh to get the sound output on the A1.
Another emulator which should work is PC-Task.

PC-Task and UAE are dog slow on all 68k Amigas, and there's very little that can be done about that. To run an emulator inside UAE is just not worth even trying, seeing as most emulators use nearly all of an 060's power, and the 060 is already gonna be flat out running UAE at less than 68000 speeds, especially with custom chipset emulation I'd guess you'd be looking at 10% of 68000 speed.

Mac emulation can be problematic with a Voodoo3 (in my experience anyway, the Mac's screen and Workbench screen seem to corrupt each other and gradually invade each other's memory, eventually crashing my machine) but when it does work it's impressive. Also, Fusion will not work with OS3.9 (BB2 I think), but Basillisk and ShapeShifter should.

Speed shouldn't have been a problem with AmiMasterGear, there is an option somewhere to limit the speed to 100% so you don't have that problem on faster machines. I have it at home and it is very good running at 100% speed (except for that "hissing" sound from one of the emulated channels)

Yeah, I tried setting AmiMasterGear to normal speed but it still ran too fast. I wish Quake would do that!
