Default What country is this?

Its a country that although has laws against torture, will ship out its victims to other countries to pay them to do the torturing, whilst symiltaniously condemming the host country for torturing people.

Its a country that can now arrest those it deems "undesirable" along with all their family and friends for as long as it wants to

Its a country that if you attempt to change the mind of the government, can have you and your family arrested for as long as it wants to.

If you go on a protest of any sort, you are automatically branded "undesirable" and can again, be imprisoned for as long as the government wants.

Where oposision parties to the government could at any moment be arrested as "undesirable". (comes under attempting to change the mind of the government).

That can in the event of a "civil emergency" take possession of your property, your bank accounts and everything you own, including you, to do the bidding of the government.

Those are the clues, what is the country.

Given the vauge wording of the anti terrorism legislation, that could only be the UK, surely?

Might be.

But only in the Blue states.

We never get any excitement in the Red states!

But if the country you are talking about is in Europe, I would say any country with a Queen.

Would that be a queen in power, or just one that is married to a king? :-)

Sweden out-sources torturing to the CIA, and the Egyptians, BTW.

Fade's suggestion is correct, as are several others in this thread, I am, of course, talking about the United Kingdom of Great Britain, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

I could have sworn however that most of the things I listed were things that Blair used to attack Saddam about.... But that could well be my memory playing tricks again.
