Default A Word from me.....

Quote:
Feel free to visit those other sites then. End of conversation, and thanks for opening a very old thread to run as a duplicate means of annoying everyone.
I was not trying to annoy everyone Wayne. All I asked was for the avatar sizes to be a tiny bit bigger.

You say 90 x 90 is fine - well, it's not. Nowadays computers have higher resolutions, therefore the avatars appear as being very small.

I'm fed up with being branded a troll on this site, and it is mainly because of your constant victimising of me whenever I come on here that people are branding me a troll.

I like amigas. I own an Amiga 500+ to be precise and have some decent games for it. I'm not just some guy who doesn't care about Amigas, and just wants to post crap in the coffee house sections.

Please, Wayne, stop this victimising.

come on guys!! is this "really" a problem?

@Sumner

try to upload an 120x120 avatar as many other users have done.

Where's the problem? stay in the filesize limit.

I get the picture.

I'm just not very happy with the way Wayne's been speaking to me, and the way that he is trying to portray me.

If you have a grievance with Wayne, then it's best to resolve it through private mail. Airing any dirty laundry on the forums is only going to aggravate bad feeling. If you feel victimised then posting it here in an effort to gain sympathy is only going to annoy Wayne (and probably others too) more. After all, the moderators are here to run things and we must abide by their rules otherwise there will be no Amiga.org.

It might help a little if you explained yourself a little more, rather than saying "I think the positive/negative impact of the bible on society is 50/50" for example, you might want expand on that. That will give other posters something to work with and respond to.

I haven't seen the Avatar thread, but there is a finite limit on storage/bandwidth here. I'd rather spend my time reading what someone has to say than waiting ages for detailed avatars to be downloaded via my 56k modem. After all, blob, Karlos and Punkie seem to be able to upload original avatars given the space constraints.

Come now, Sumner, you are bringing it all on yourself.

Moan about something pointless (e.g. God forbid someone forget's the 7 in your handle, 90x90 avatars are too small, you invented the amiga org awards idea but now someone else has usurped it)... get told off.

Create a thread about being told off and accusations of victimisation, get told off some more...

The cycle continues ad nauseum.

-edit-

If big avatars are your thing, check out the aros-exec site. I haven't really been in a long time, but it was 200K last time I looked:

Sumner,

Save it for someone who cares. Now that jonopike has been banned, and kennyr has stopped posting regularly, you and your posts are #1 on my list of people I consistently get complaints about.

Your continual whining, including this thread, are simply enough to indicate that you don't like it here. All I'm doing is inviting you to use sites that you actually like instead of annoying the other site members here.

With Jonopike gone and KennyR thankfully subdued (seriously, thank you), the number of complaints in my mailbox has fallen close to 70%. The problem is, you pretty much make up 2/3 of the remaining 30%, so right now your continual whining isn't helping your case.

As I have always have, I enjoy interacting with the users here. I want this site to be enjoyable by everyone. If that means I have to lop off the heads of the few people I get constant complaints about to benefit the vast majority of users who actually use and appreciate this site, so be it.

People don't normally go out of their way to {bleep} and complain. The fact that people ARE going out of their way to {bleep} about certain people CONSISTENTLY says very clearly that something needs to be done.

If it makes me "the big anti-christ Hitler" to take action, that doesn't hurt my feelings. Most trolls have thought of me as "the big anti-christ Hitler" for the last 10 years, and I'm sure they'll do so for the next 10 years. It's not the trolls that matter though.

Why not get your eyes tested?

I've surfed this site 1280*1024 on a 14" monitor (don't ask :-P ) and the avatar size of 90*90 is perfectly fine.

Anyways, it has nothing to do with the screen resolutions that people use, it has to do with the bandwidth as Wayne has already pointed out to you. You just seem to be unwilling or unable to grasp this concept.

Who cares what other sites have avatars anyway? This is not another site. I'm a member of 6 other forums, two of which have no avatars. How do we cope? Easy, we read the names of the users. You know... that funny writing above the "very small" avatars :-P

Firstly, I am NOT a troll.

Secondly, I know I post crap sometimes and I'm sorry, but I feel that I haven't been forgiven for what I did a YEAR ago, with the picture threads and video threads.

Thirdly, I do like this site. It's just there are some people who can't forgive and forget.

And another thing Wayne, how can 2/3 of your inbox be full of complaints about me??? This is only my 3rd day back on the site in god knows how long.

Please Wayne, and everyone who is complaining about me to Wayne, STOP THE VICTIMISING OF ME.

Enough said.

Funny, the only person I see here harping on about your old threads is... you

Until you started going on about people who complained about your old threads, I'd forgotten all about them.

If you didn't keep jumping up and down like this, I doubt anybody would have an issue with you.

Just grab a cuppa, relax and post normally - by which I mean don't make every second post resonate with "Look, Im not a troll, leave me alone, stop victimising me etc.

Yes, I'm the only one posting about them, but I feel that in some people's minds, they just can't forget what I did last January/February.

How can they when you keep bringing it up?

ok, sumner, here's the difference between you and an adult:

1) you whine.

2) when I discovered the size restrictions, I rescaled the AV I was uploading, uploaded it and didn't make a thread complaining about it. I haven't thought about it since. Until, of course, you did your usual whining.

word of advice: some things are worth complaining about, and some things aren't. try to learn the difference.

My current avatar was resized using mspaint of all things, as i was in the library at uni at the time i uploaded it.

Surely sumner must have access to mspaint? ;-)

As father to a 6yr old son and a 9yr old step-daughter, I can tell you the only way to deal with a childs attention seeking behaviour is to IGNORE it.

I won't respond to any whiny or offensive threads or posts by sumner after this.

Well thought out, constructive observations and arguments on the otherhand...........
