These are from the original three season episodes of Star Trek.
What was James Kirk's middle name? What was his bother's name? What was his wife's name (the one he married in the actual series)? What did he call himself at the time (see above question)? What was Spock's mother's name? How many episodes had Romulans in them? What did Kirk steal from the Romulans in one of them? What did Kirk fall in love with when he met Flint? How many times did Kirk fall in love? Uh, never mind, math hasn't progressed that far yet. What is the only thing tribbles do not like? Who killed Scotty's date? What did they call the access way to the warp engine nacelles? Whoever get these all correct as a prize receives all of the money I have ever won in the lottery. That sum is roughly equivalent to your odds of winning the lottery. Do the math. :-D

What was James Kirk's middle name? Tiberius <skipperdeskip> What did they call the access way to the warp engine nacelles? I'm guessing Jeffries-tubes, however that's only going by post-TOS viewing. And it would be incorrect as the crawlspaces troughout the entire ship bear that name. Does it show that I never watched TOS? :-D. |

I only knew his middle name because it was a question in an Amiga mag for a compo celebrating the release of Star Trek: The 25th Anniversary (releasing like 3 years late on the Amiga :-)). See? Reading Amiga mags actually tought me stuff :-D. >>>Who killed Scotty's date? jack the ripper? >very good! (was that really a guess?) Oh please don't tell that TOS also messed with the timeline and flipping back and forth between parallel universes and stuff! |

Hum,
>>tought me stuff `jack the ripper` was only one alias (like alias edus ed s:user-startup ) i forget the other names... The only other thing i think Kirk stole was the `cloaking device` in a episode based on the `bay of Biffar(?) spying incident`...

@ Odin
"...Oh please don't tell that TOS also messed with the timeline and flipping back and forth between parallel universes and stuff!..." ----------------------------------------------- Yep, they did. IIRC it happeneed for the first time in the episode called 'City at the edge of forever' or 'edge of the universe' or something. They went back in time to the 1930s to save McCoy. That was when Kirk allowed a car to run over McCoy's love interest, who IIRC was a character played by Joan Collins. |

By the way....
All Star Trek films and TV series are excellent, except Enterprise. Anyone who doesn't like TNG must immediately wear a badge saying "I have the imagination of a festering venereal boil on the edge of a syphillitic dead camel's anus" OR one of these badges: 1) "Number 1 Eastenders fan" 2) "Dawson's Creek or Bust" 3) "Trisha has my heart" 4) "Jerry Springer is my hero" 5) "Bring back Baywatch" OR If you don't like slogans, you can just get a badge with a Pokemon on it, with its hand extended and the thumb up. :-P |

Of course he can, if he knows it is for the purpose of making a badge for a person who doesn't like TNG :-P

@X-Ray
Actually, as a bit of a Sci Fi fan, I have to say I find the star trek universe rather lame in comparison to other works. We can forgive the original series, but TNG ought to have been more forward thinking: First of all, the vast majority of races are humanoid, and genetically compatible. Where's the imagination in that? Even the borg, who are supposed to have assimilated countless races and their traits are humanoid - despite the fact that their cybernetic aspect ought to relieve them of adopting any particular biologically imposed form and leaving them free to adopt whatever form suits a particular function. Even HG Wells foresaw this aspect in War of the Worlds. The human technological aspect is totally disparate IMHO. A race with FTL, nano technology, artificial gravity, energy sheilds, matter teleport etc. still using computer consoles and displays is rather amusing. That speaks to me also of a lack of imagination. Also, not everything can be solved by a phased tachyon pulse ![]() Then again, when viewed as a sci fi series made for TV it is better than average, I suppose.

That's one thing I never got in Star Trek, there's a dangerous new planet to be explored and who do they send? Why, the ships most important officers ofcourse kitted out with nothing more than a puny phaser and a tricorder. HELLO! How about protective environment suits? What about sending a a friggin probe down there first?
<grumble...moan...mutter> Sorry...just a thing that has always annoyed me. Oh and what is it with the women being dressed as if they are Porn Queens! |

@ Karlos and Odin
Yup, all those discrepancies are there to ensure the dilemma in the storyline is accessible to the masses (such as me) :-) |
