Henkel Consumer Adhesives Launches Successful Duct Tape Viking Ship at the 2004 Mahone Bay Wooden Boat Festival

MAHONE BAY, Nova Scotia, August 10, 2004—They came, they created, they conquered; at least some of them did.

The Mahone Bay Wooden Boat Festival saw the successful launching on July 31 of the S.S. Duck® Tape, a 15-foot recreation of a Viking ship made entirely out of cardboard, duct tape and wood glue.

Much to the surprise of pessimists, Duct Tape Artist Todd Scott and his crew of ‘sailors’ took the S.S. Duck Tape for a twenty-minute tour of Mahone Bay, cheered on by an enthusiastic crowd. This flashy and sea-worthy vessel, which only took two days to construct, was created with more than 150 rolls of Duck brand duct tape.

The Mahone Bay Wooden Boat Festival is held every year in Nova Scotia. This year was the 15th annual celebration.




Now how cool is that 8-).
