Problems with state of the art demo..
« on: August 28, 2004, 07:27:24 PM »
I have tried to get this demo run for quite some time now, but it keeps crashing in the very beginning, where you see that hand animation. I have 2 a500 with 1meg ram, one with kick1.3 and one with kick2.x. It crashes at exact same spot on both, and i have tried numerous of floppy disks and also tried to redownload the adf file.. Any ideas on what can cause this? I downloaded a bunch of other demos, which worked just fine..

What happens when it crash is entirely random.. Sometimes it just freezes at that hand scene, other times it brings you to some screen with some random colours, lines and even somtimes it makes the floppy drive and power light go totally crazy.

I thought this demo was made for a standard a500 with extra ram?

UPDATE: problem is solved... error was caused by broken adf dumps.

I think it needs 1Mb of Chip ram, rather than 1/2 Mb of each.  Used to work on my A2000 with 1Mb chip ram and KS 1.3 ... it does work (well, all but the last 2 seconds) under UAE now, though.

There's a WHDLoad installer for it by the way :-)

hehe forget it, seems like there was something wrong with the adf files on both places i had downloaded it.
The one i downloaded from back2roots worked nicely :-D
First time i saw this demo on the real thing  :-)
